MapKing has
provided a number of map regions
in different models, and hence it
is hard to determine the current
map being used by the customers.
In order to verify the success of
installation, a demo map (HK_DEMO)
with HongKong (WanChai only) region
is included in the set up procedure
for testing purpose.
To
make use of a full map, please
follow the steps belows:

- Installation of MapKing Setup
program.
- Copying the maps from MapKing
CD to the PocketPC (PPC) inside
a folder [My Documents].
- From your PocketPC, start
the MapKing program and open
a map, in order to get the MK
ID.
- Using the Product Authorization
Code to apply for the Registration
Code of each map here, with
proper MK ID.
- Using this Registration Code
to activate the corresponding
map permanently.

From
the package you will have a product
authorization card with a 10 digits
combination code “Product
Authorization code” .To get
the “Product registration
code” (16digits), please follow
the steps below:
1. Connect to Internet, Choose registration
from www.mapking.com
2. Input the “Product Authorization
code”
3. Input the MK ID or SmartPhone
owner name for SmartPhone version;
please input the correct code/ owner
name
4. Input the information request
correctly. This information is confidential
and will use for upgrade notification
and promotion. Get the “Product
Registration code” for registration
in Pocket PC. Print the page for
further reference. |
SmartPhone
registration
- Setting up the [Owner Name]
in the Smartphone – Start
–Setting -Owner Information.
- Visit www.mapking.com and
enter the registration section.
- Enter the Product Authorization
Code and other information requested
by the registration screen.
After submit, a 16-character
registration code will be displayed.
Please write down the code,
print or save the screen for
future reference.
Attention: The Smartphone name
submitted must be exactly identical
to the name entered in your
Smartphone
- Install MapKing core program:
connect Smartphone to PC, launch
ActiveSync, and activate the
Setup file.
- Install Map: Copying the maps
from CD to the SP inside a folder
[My Documents]. It is the fixed
default path used by MapKing
to locate map file, MapKing
cannot open map files stored
in other folders.
- Key in the Registration Code
on the pop up registration screen,
press Register and activate
the corresponding map permanently.

Key in the registration code

of the purchased map, press register
and activate the corresponding map
permanently registration. If the
map is already open, press ‘Tools’
>’About’ >’Register’
to bring up the Registration screen. |

Register
MapKing™ with GPRS
connection(optional) |
An
alternative way to obtain registration
code for your product is to register
through GPRS connection. Please
press “GPRS Register at
registration page as fig2-2-4a.
The GPRS Internet connection will
be enabled. And use your MKID
and Product Authorization code
to achieve the registration code
of your product.
You must have valid SIM
card installed and GPRS service
to achieve this function.
Enter your Authorization code
here. And fill in the registration
information the web request.
